Serge Choinière, Founding President
Serge Choinière’s background is in law and administration. He has dedicated his career to management and development, mainly in the fields of tourism and hospitality.
After heading education- and hospitality-sector services and businesses, he founded Gescona, a consulting and management company that worked mostly with tourism and hospitality clients. Over the 30-some years of his professional firm being in business, Mr. Choinière inspired or guided the development of major public facilities such as the Promenade René-Lévesque in Longueuil and the Old Port of Montréal, as well as events such as the Tour de l’Île de Montréal. Mr. Choinière has also contributed to the expansion of hotel and restaurant establishments in Canada and abroad.
Serge Choinière has hosted conferences in various forums, published numerous articles on the tourism and hospitality industry and held a position on the board of directors of the Association Hôtellerie Québec.
He was awarded the “Mérite hôtelier du Québec” and earned distinction from the Canadian Tourism Commission. His volunteer involvement includes working as an administrator of La maison Tremplin in Longueuil and founding La Fondation Compagnom.
André Robitaille, Vice-President, Administration
André Robitaille has a background in administration. He has dedicated his career to management, occupying various managerial positions over more than 40 years, mainly in the education sector (Cégep du Vieux Montréal and Université du Québec à Montréal). He was also vice-president of the Collège de Valleyfield for three years and a director of the Société de développement commercial du Quartier latin from 1999 to 2013.
Mr. Robitaille has been involved as a volunteer or director in various organizations working with young people: the Fédération québécoise du scoutisme, the Association des scouts du Canada and the Maison des jeunes l’Antidote de Candiac. In addition, since 2005, he has been devoting his volunteer efforts to serving as director and chair of a parish corporation board.
Guy Fortin, Vice-President, Special Projects
Guy Fortin has a university education in recreation, administration and project management. After holding various management and executive positions in organizations in the education and recreation sectors, he accepted a full-time teaching position, which he still holds today, in recreation leadership training at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal.
Mr. Fortin has done much volunteer work: he was founding president of the Club de plein air Zahra in Trois-Rivières, event chair for the Séminaire Saint-Joseph’s Vert et Or club, and scout commissioner of Pionniers en Mauricie.
Maurice Mousseau, Secretary
Retired lawyer Maurice Mousseau has had a distinguished law career, mainly in the firm he founded and headed for nearly 30 years. His legal practice focused on business law, corporate law and immigration law on behalf of various companies including large Canadian corporations. Mr. Mousseau also spent a few years working as director of legal affairs for two service companies in Quebec.
Maurice Mousseau has been involved with people in need for some years. In addition, he has served as a director of La Fondation Compagnom since its creation.
Alain Généreux, Treasurer
Alain Généreux holds a bachelor’s degree in teaching physical education, a certificate in maladjusted behaviour in children, a certificate in sociology and a certificate in environment sciences. His career took two major directions: he first taught physical education in addition to working as a psychoeducator with youth. Then, he became a businessman, owning businesses in the recreation and tourism, and environmental sectors.
Alain Généreux is now retired and working as a volunteer with La Fondation Compagnom, which he has been supporting from the beginning.
